Goldfields Classic Olympic Distance Triathlon

Evolution Mining presents the Goldfields Classic Olympic Distance Triathlon.

This event will be held on Sunday 23rd April 2017.

Location:

Goldfields Oasis Recreation Centre, Johnston Street, Kalgoorlie
Grassed area at back of pool - enter off Johnston street

Distances available:

Triathlon
Olympic Distance - 1500m swim / 40km bike / 10km run
Short Course - 500m swim / 18km bike / 5km run

Duathlon
Olympic Distance - 5km run / 40km bike / 10km run
Short Course - 2.4km run / 18km bike / 5km run

Individual and team entries are available for all distances.


Fees:
Individual Entry - Triathlon WA member - $50
Individual Entry - Non Tri WA member - $60
Team Entry - (all) Triathlon WA members - $100
Team Entry - Non Tri WA members - $120


Event times:
7:00 am - Registration opens
7:30 am - Registration closed / Transition closed
7:45 am - Race Briefing
8:00 am - OD Start
8:35 am - Short Course Start
11:30am - Presentations

Lunch is included for all competitors so stay around after the last competitor finishes for presenations and food.


Course Info:
Triathlon
Olympic Distance - 30 laps of the 50m pool, 9 laps on the bike, 4 laps on the run plus 400m on oval to finish.
Short Course - 10 laps of the 50m pool, 4 laps on the bike, 2 laps on the run plus 200m on oval to finish.
Duathlon
Olympic Distance - 2 laps of the run plus 200m on oval, 9 laps on the bike, 4 laps on the run plus 400m on oval to finish.
Short Course - 1 lap on the run, 4 laps on the bike, 2 laps on the run plus 200m on oval to finish.
Note: There are no road closures for this event - all road rules must be followed.

Minimum ages:
Olympic Distance - Individuals - 15 years minimum
Olympic Distance - Teams - 14 years minimum (one leg per team member)

Short Course - Individuals - 14 years minimum
Short Course - Teams - 13 years minimum (one leg per team member)


Frequenty Asked Questions

Do we get any free stuff?
Yes, there is an entry gift for all competitors and lunch following the event.
We also provide water for free during the run leg and fruit etc at the finish line.

Do I need to be a member of a club/organization to do this event?
No membership required, this is an open event so anyone can participate. However, current members of Triathlon WA receive discounted entry fees as a day-license fee is built into the costs for non-members
