Sunday dawned cold, wet and very windy for the Goldfields St Ives Corporate Teams triathlon. When we arrived to set up we were wondering how many text messages and phone calls there were flying around Kalgoorlie to find out if people still wanted to compete.  

39 teams competed in the triathlon, 19 mixed, 10 men’s and 10 ladies teams which was a great turn out despite the weather. Team HPS (Anthea Stacey, Scott Newman and Jacinta Henderson) blitzed the field taking out the triathlon in a time of 31:29, almost 3 minutes faster than the next team, in doing so took out first mixed team. First placed males were JPC Dudes and first place female team was JPC chicks. It seemed that there was a large amount of chalkies and coppers competing this year, well done to you all and I hope you all had some sort of bragging rights at work on Monday. 

Some other interesting stats were:

Fastest swim - 4mins 12sec- 300m

Fastest bike - 15 mins 19 sec – 9kms

Run Leg  - 10 min 47 sec – 3kms

Even though the weather was against us, everyone had a great time and were very appreciative of the hot tea and coffee afterwards. Once again a big thank you goes to all members who dedicated a little bit of there time to help support this event.
